Dr. Stanzin Mantok Dean Students' Welfare

Dr. Stanzin Mantok is an Assistant Professor at Department of Commerce, University of Ladakh. She did her B.Com, M.Com, M.Phil and Ph.D from University of Jammu and has qualified NET-JRF. Earlier she taught at Government Degree College, Basohli, Jammu. She has more than 09 years of teaching experience. Her research work has appeared in numerous journals of international repute, including International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Services Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development. She presented her research works in various international and national conferences. Her current research interests include women entrepreneurship, women empowerment, bricolage and indigenous water management system. To date, she has received 511 citations and has achieved an h-index of 7 and an i10-index of 7, reflecting the impact and recognition of her research contributions.

She successfully completed an ICSSR-sponsored research project titled “Churpon System (Traditional Indigenous Water Distributor) in Ladakh and its Preservation: A Study of Leh District” as Project Director. She has also coordinated two GIAN courses sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Currently, she is serving as Project Director of an ICSSR-sponsored major research project titled “Empowering Rural Women through Homestay Tourism for Sustainable Livelihoods: An Empirical Study of Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.” In addition to her academic responsibilities, she is serving as the Dean of Students’ Welfare and Local Coordinator of GIAN at the University.

As Dean of Students’ Welfare, she extends her warm greetings and best wishes to all students. She believes that students are the most valuable asset of the University and the future of society. She encourages students to work hard, stay focused on their goals, and continue learning with dedication and sincerity. University life offers many opportunities for academic growth, personal development, and skill enhancement. She motivates students to actively participate in academic, cultural, sports, and other co-curricular activities to make the most of their university experience.
