Department of Chemistry, University of Ladakh Kargil Campus, in Collaboration with WatersTM, Organizes Hands-On Training on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Kargil, Ladakh – [29-05-2025] – The Department of Chemistry, University of Ladakh, in collaboration with WatersTM , successfully conducted a two-day hands-on training workshop on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The event was designed to enhance participants’ practical skills and theoretical understanding of advanced analytical techniques used in modern chemical and environmental research. The program began with a traditional Ladakhi welcome, where the guest speakers were honored with Khataks (ceremonial scarves), followed by an inaugural address delivered by Mr. Gh. Ali, Coordinator, Department of Chemistry, University of Ladakh. The training drew enthusiastic participation from students and faculty across various institutions, including the School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Kargil Campus; Degree College Drass; Leh Campus; and the Departments of Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Botany, Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh. In the first session, Mr. Ranjit Singh, an expert from WatersTM, presented a comprehensive overview of HPLC and Mass Spectrometry. His talk focused on the fundamental principles, instrumentation, and a wide range of real-world applications, providing a strong foundation for beginners and reinforcing concepts for advanced learners. In the second session, Mr. G.L. Sahu, Service Manager at WatersTM, led an intensive practical session on HPLC instrumentation. Participants gained hands-on experience in system setup, sample injection, data acquisition, troubleshooting, and maintenance protocols—essential skills for laboratory professionals working in analytical chemistry, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, and related disciplines. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Vilayat Ali, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany. On behalf of the organizing departments, he expressed sincere gratitude to the resource persons from WatersTM for their time and expertise, and appreciated the active engagement of all attendees, whose curiosity and enthusiasm made the program a resounding success.
