As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, the students of the Department of Education, Leh Campus, University of Ladakh, visited the Inclusive School, Government High School Chuchot Yokma, Leh, on Saturday, 24th May 2025. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to inclusive education practices and to help students understand the functioning of an inclusive school environment. The students were accompanied by Dr. Ashu Rajput and Dr. Aamir Ali, both Assistant Professors in the Department of Education. During the visit, the students interacted with the school teachers, the special educator, and also with the children studying in the school. They gained insights into the classroom settings, teaching methods, and inclusive practices being implemented. Students actively engaged in discussions with the teachers and asked questions related to curriculum adaptation, classroom management, and the support system available for children with special needs. They also explored the school’s infrastructure, including the classrooms, the hostel, and other facilities that cater to children from various backgrounds, including those with special needs. The B.Ed. students gave cultural performances. The students of the Inclusive School, Chuchot Yokma also presented dance performances. These performances added joy and enthusiasm to the visit and created a warm and welcoming environment during the event. The visit proved to be a meaningful learning experience, offering the B.Ed. students valuable insights into inclusive teaching strategies and the importance of inclusive education in today’s learning environment.
